Here's Sunday's Bulletin! Worship at 11 am ... Christian Ed hour at 9:45 am ("Resurrection As Resistance")
Jesus' first disciples were gathered, in Jerusalem. They had experienced the power of his resurrection and ascension. Yet -- associated as they were with a crucified traitor to the Roman Empire -- they remained in hiding from the authorities.
With Judas out of the picture, Peter suggested that they fill his vacancy with "one who has accompanied us during all the time that Jesus went in and out among us."
Sunday's Message: "One Who Has Accompanied Us." Especially in times of great need: How does the power of accompaniment impact us -- in a world that promotes self-reliance, with the occasional dramatic corrective of intervention?
